Notes

This class is designed to give you a baisc introduction to the Legal environment that affects businesses today. This is only the first of three courses taught out of West's Busienss Law, a comprehensive introduction to business law for the non-lawyer.

Our classes will be held in room 1507 of the Jackson Hole High School. This classroom is equiped with comptuers for every student, allowing students to use this technology for notetaking, testing, and research of additional information regarding our topics. Students may bring a laptop for notetaking, if they wish, but there is no internet access for laptops. Outside access to a computer with an internet connection is necessary to fully appreciate this topic. CWC has a computer lab available for your use.

A complete syllabus of the course may be accessed here. Students should stay at least one reading assignment ahead of the syllabus, as the schedule is tight, and we will proceed to the next chapter after we finish each chapter. There will be weekly review/quizzes of vocabulary, required journals reflecting on our disucssions, and four sectional tests. A final test will be held on the last day of class. Tests will be largely multiple choice, but may contain one or more wirtten questions.

I will be using this web page to communicate with you, including listing of required and optional texts and materials, development of resources and links (you can help me with this if you find something you would like to share), posting of the syllabus. Please check back frequently for updates.

Meanwhile, to make this course useful for you, I would like to know more about you, who you are, how you came to be in this class, and what you would like to get out of it. Please e-mail me at victoria@writehess.com.
