Victoria Hess is a Jackson Hole native who has returned to
the valley after years of travel
through five continents. She brings back with her years
of experience in writing, web design,
teaching, photography, and other editorial services.
Photography
My
greatest joy right now is restoring antique photos: you know,
those photos that have been sitting in a shoebox getting browner
every year. And many of them can be made to look like new.
Doesn't my grandmother look great? She always did, but her
photo was getting a little faded.
I am happy to work with your family treasures. I can enlarge
and restore almost anything, and return to you your orginials
unharmed. Drop me a line and we can get together.
Travel
I've done a lot of it, both as the spouse of a US diplomat,
and on my own. Check out my travel
pages to take a virtual trip.
Education
Sometimes it takes a while to figure it out, but I was born
to be a teacher. My education
page will tell you more about what I am doing now, and my
CV will give you greater depth.
Editorial
Sometimes you just gotta write.
And in teaching writng over the last year, I have found satisfaction
in sharing this skill. Of course writing is only really good
if you have people to share and critic with: members of my
writers group live all over the world, serving in a variety
of diplomatic posts abroad.
Family
My current pet project is tracking down the Hirschland
family and its stories. It started with a visit in late
September 2010 from some cousins I had never met, and a suggestion
that I use Facebook to find family members from branches dating
before my great-grandfather, Isaac Hirschland. In the month
since then, I have found a half a dozen different branches
of our family, and many tales of courage and endurance. Please
share those with me as I continue to post stories on the Hirschland
Family website.
