October 2000: Victoria Falls & Wange Park

We saw a lot of elephants at Hwange. It is said to have one of the largest wild herds in the world. On our first game drive, we were going along a rutted road when we saw in the distance a large family herd of about 30 elephants coming toward us. We stopped the truck, and they walked right in front of us, one of the large females veering to avoid us.
