Victoria Falls is one of the seven natural wonders of the world. A "curtain falls" more than a mile long and up to 420 feet deep, it was known as "Smoke that Thunders." by the locals before it was "discovered" by David Livingstone.

We saw the Falls in October, the end of the dry season, so, in fact, there was not water falling along the entire mile of the Falls. But the water that was falling was impressive enough, creating substantial mist on the far side of the gorge where we were standing. This is a difficult place to photograph. Our panarama might give you some idea of how big it really is.

Andrew spent most of our vacation, even the game drives, with his nose in a book.
